About Us

01

Our Mission & Foundations

Our Mission

Our mission is to research and develop versatile, nature-derived technologies that address complex challenges across health, food systems, hygiene, agriculture, renewable energy and surface protection. By transforming bioflavonoids from upcycled citrus into practical applications, we aim to protect people, animals, products, infrastructure and the environment in harmony with nature.

Our Foundations

Citrox Biosciences was founded in the UK in 2006, building on pioneering research into the antimicrobial and anti-pathogenic potential of citrus bioflavonoids that began in the 1990s. This work led to patented technologies and a growing range of applications developed through scientific research, independent testing and collaboration with commercial and public-sector partners.

Our Journey

1990s–2005

Initial bioflavonoid research led to the first Citrox technology patent for oral-care applications in 2005.

Research Foundations

2006

Citrox Biosciences Ltd was founded in the UK to develop specialist technologies based on plant extracts and naturally occurring compounds.

Citrox Biosciences Established

2007–2012

Citrox technology progressed into food protection and dental hygiene, with further patents secured for decontamination, surface coatings and treated materials.

Expanding Applications

2020–Today

From Citrox Protect to current research across health, agriculture and renewable energy, we continue to explore new applications through collaboration.
